Promoting the expressive arts abroad of COOK ISLANDS CULTURAL DANCE GROUP IN BRISBANE AUSTRALIA
The performing arts is a core component of Cook Islands Culture through expression of art, music and dance and we maintain vitality of Cook Islands Culture by sharing with our young and future generations.
Mr Peter Kaisara had identified a need to maintain our culture hence, the formation of the Cook Islands Cultural dance group in Kedron,Brisbane, Australia 2003.
Cook Islands cultural dance group is Australia's most comprehensive cultural dance group in Brisbane with mission statement to preserve, promote and share the Cook Islands culture through music, dance and cultural arts.
Cook Islands cultural dance group volunteers and participates in social, educational and cultural opportunities to increase knowledge and understanding of Cook Islands Culture.
Cook Islands cultural dance group work within partnerships with various businesses, communities, educational organisations, cultural workshops, displays, artists, private functions, performing arts programs and government departments which lead us to Australia Parliament House in Canberra May 2011 for the launch of Mr Kevin Rudd's International Australian Volunteers project and to launch the Census -Australian Bureau of Statistics at Queens Street Mall, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia 28th July 2011.
Director Mr Peter Kaisara and his wife Nooroa Kaisara were young performers recruited 20 years ago with Rarotonga Nui dance group, Rarotonga. Performing Cook Islands expressive arts throughout the summer months in Namegawa,Tokyo Japan. Mr Peter Kaisara & Mrs Nooroa Kaisara are accomplished dancers, singers and musicians. Performed extensively throughout the South Pacific and Asia.
The future direction for the Cook Islands cultural dance group is offering the opportunity to promote Cook Islands Culture.
